Bryce Hurst Music Studio

private lessons in piano, ukulele, accordion, music theory and songwriting

About Me

I love playing and sharing the joy of music. Focusing my mind on a song is somehow both relaxing and stimulating at the same time. And as transcendent as it can be to play alone, sharing the experience with friends is even better.

I am a patient and easygoing teacher. Nourishing the student's enthusiasm is always my priority. I don't push too hard if it'll squeeze the fun out.

About my background: At the age of seven I began piano lessons. I studied for ten years, performing in various recitals and district- and state-wide competitions. Along the way I also played the tuba for six years, and sang in the school choir and musical theater productions. I taught myself to play accordion while I was living in a small apartment without room for a piano. Lately I've taken up the ukulele, which I love for its sweet sound, and also bit of guitar. I'm writing songs—some of which I've been able to share at my kids' elementary school, where I play accordion at their weekly Community Circle assembly. I've been giving private lessons since 2011.
